Fishwick Papers: the "Articles Whose Content Is Directly Relevant To Things You Have Thought About Today" edition
Good evening Fishwick Paper Subscribers!
How are things in your part of the world? Yeah? Are you still working on that thing? Amazing! I’m glad to hear it!
I’ve been having a busy ol’ time, I did a tour of Aotearoa with Grifted & Talented (you can see full recordings of shows on my Patreon)! I taught improv to a MAJOR INTERNATIONAL CELEBRITY that I can’t name for NDA reasons! I appeared on comedy podcast Blockblunders to try and guess the plot of Inception and fun-but-not-really-comedy podcast Generation Gap where I nattered about theatre! I got a new job that hasn’t been announced yet!
Some other things that are coming up:
It’s my third and final year as co-director of the New Zealand Improv Festival. I’m really proud of the line-up that we’ve put together. If you’re going to be in Wellington from 26 September – 4 October, come check out some of the shows and workshops we’re putting on!
Tomorrow night in Sydney I’m in two shows back-to-back: the improvised soap opera High Tide! at 7pm, which has a ludicrously stacked cast and has been a joy to direct, and then poetry/comedy night Laughcry where I’ll be doing proper standup for the first time in yeaarrsss.
If you’re in Meanjin or Naarm I’ll be coming to you to teach some workshops and be in some shows in late July and early August. Keep an eye on my Linktree for details!
I think that’s all the updates I have for you. Did I mention we got a new cat? We got a new cat! Her name’s Dana Scully and she’s great.
Okay, I think that’s everything for now. Much like a golf course inspector might say, let’s take a look at some links.
